Sahar Khoury in New York, NY

Sahar Khoury’s show, You Can’t Cut It Into Pieces, at Canada is beautiful. I knew this show was going on, but if I hadn’t, I’d still have known it was Khoury’s work. Once you see it, you know it, at least for now. I first saw her pieces early in 2020 at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and have been keeping my eye on her ever since.

“The show is a series of wall based and free-standing sculpture that employ color, ranging from high chroma to earthy, an insistently improvisational construction techniques and found objects from the everyday world.” (Canada)

I have learned to never leave without looking in the office area, and the back meeting room, at Canada. There are always amazing pieces in these areas. The last two images, perhaps my favorite, are in the front area. The people who work at Canada get to look at these all day long. Lucky them!
