Robert Colescott in New York, NY

I had fallen head over heels in love with Robert Colescott’s paintings at the New Museum sixty year survey in July. Robert Colescott: Women, at Venus Over Manhattan, one of my favorite galleries, had 30 works that I had not seen before. I know I audibly gasped when I walked in, and possibly commented out loud in front of several pieces. Luckily the gallery attendant is in the far front of the gallery, so I’ll just pretend she never heard me.
